Veteran-Owned, Marine-Built: Meet Jeremy Rose

Jeremy Rose, Marine veteran and owner of The Bike Inn, in dress blues and Bike Inn jersey
Jeremy Rose: Marine dress blues then, Bike Inn jersey now.

The guy who hands you trail maps and builds your GPS route is Jeremy Rose, owner of The Bike Inn and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The photo above tells the story in two frames: Marine dress blues on the left, a Bike Inn jersey on the right.

Jeremy served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 1999 to July 2007 as a ground radio repairman, ground radio maintenance chief and primary marksmanship instructor. He deployed to Okinawa for six months in 2002 and to Iraq for nine months in 2004. Most of his service was with 1st and 3rd Radio Battalion at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

He calls the Marine Corps one of the favorite times of his life, and his best friends still come from that world.

After the Marine Corps, Jeremy spent about another decade as a private defense contractor, including another 53 months in combat zones around the world.

He bought the old 1951 Pines property in early 2021, renovated it starting that April, and opened The Bike Inn in September 2021. You can read the full story on our history page.

So Veterans Day isn’t a marketing date for us. It’s a day to say thank you to everyone who served, and to the families who stood beside them.

Visit the Veterans Wall of Honor in Bella Vista

Any day of your trip, make time for the Veterans Wall of Honor at 101 Veterans Way in Bella Vista. First dedicated in 2004 and designed by the late architect Vern Watten, the wall now displays nearly 5,000 names. This fall, the Rogers nonprofit Sheep Dog Impact Assistance took over stewardship of the wall, working with the Veterans Council of Northwest Arkansas. (NWA Democrat-Gazette; Veterans Wall of Honor)

It’s a quiet, reflective stop. Bring the family, read some names, and if you know a veteran’s story, tell it there.

Ride It Out: Fall Trails Near The Bike Inn

Early November is some of the best riding of the year in Northwest Arkansas. Cool mornings, color in the hardwoods, and more than 350 miles of interconnected singletrack. Here’s how a Veterans Day weekend can look from our front door:

  • Razorback Greenway: about 1 mile away. An easy paved spin, good for a recovery day or riding with the kids.
  • Downtown and The Hub: about 2 miles by bike. Our trail maps page lays out the route across Walton to 34th and C Street. Walton is busy, so cross with care.
  • Slaughter Pen and Coler Mountain Bike Preserve: about 10 minutes away. Flow, jumps and tech, with something for every level.
  • Guided eMTB tour: a half-day ride, about 4 hours, on YT Decoy eMTBs with Sena intercom helmets. Jeremy guides, adds coaching, trail-name history and hidden art “Easter eggs.” See rentals and tours.
  • Check conditions: trails can close after rain, so check official trail status before you roll out.

  • Recovery built in. Hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, an Osaki zero-gravity massage chair and a hot outdoor shower.
  • A backyard to gather. A one-acre yard with a big community fire pit (firewood provided), covered pavilion and outdoor kitchen.
  • Easy arrival. 24-hour contactless self check-in. Check-in is 2 p.m., check-out 10 a.m., with free on-site parking.

Pick from 8 boutique hotel rooms, the Razorback Greenway Cottage, 4 handcrafted glamping cabins or 3 RV pads. Every bed is a queen, and every room glows its own neon color at night. Bringing a dog? Pets are welcome in our pet-friendly rooms 9 through 17.

Coming with a unit, a squadron reunion, or a group of riders? Our group lodging page covers whole-property stays, and veteran and public-service groups are part of who we built it for.
